Loop Breaking


My first entry into an RPG game jam in a long time! I may have misread the rules and interpreted it as a 24 hour jam, but it was very fun nonetheless.

This is a game about breaking time loops, and is actually something I've had stewing in my brain for a long time. I made a time travel game that I never published a long time ago called Temporal. It had a deck of cards you reordered when using skills, but it never really felt like the core mechanic played with time all that well.

Recently, I thought about incorporating a deck of playing cards. As I get more into zines and low budget format of games, I like using objects in everyone's houses even more.

This game is all about a time loop, so you're playing through a looping deck of playing cards. I simplified and took the idea to the extreme for time loops, but I do want to come back to Temporal at some point, and continue my dream of making a time travel RPG. I think this is a really good start to test my idea for a core system in a very, very stripped down capacity.
